Vision & Narrative

  • Vision & Narrative image

A focus on narrative is vitally important, helping us become aware that the systems we live in are socially constructed; that it doesn’t have to be this way; that we can create new narratives about what systems are for. Narrative can help people become aware of their relationships to the wider system, growing systems consciousness.

There isn’t consensus among the interviewees when it comes to the importance of having a vision of the future. For some, painting a picture of the desired future is vital, while others shy away from clearly articulated visions, instead preferring to inspire with a set of principles.
